Philippe Gerber and Chris Gilmore known collectively as They Came From Hell, present their latest collaborative horror soundtrack, ‘The Last American Witch’. The dark and gothic soundtrack features three pieces from each of the composers. Inspired by the morose story of Lucretia Brown, who in 1878 became the last American to bring charges of witchcraft against someone. The Last American Witch tells the tale of Lucretia Brown, Mary Baker Eddy and Daniel Spofford and the lawsuit that intertwines them. Mrs. Eddy, using Lucretia Brown’s name, charged that “the defendant (Daniel Spofford) practices the art of mesmerism and by his mind influences and controls the minds and bodies of other persons for the purpose of injuring the persons and property and social relations of others”. The case was never brought to trial as it was dismissed by a judge due to “defects in the writ”.

Epic. The percussion is bone crushing and rhythms entrancing. The drones envelop the space, sucking the listener in and trapping them where there is nothing but immense noise and spoken word to hear.
